I’m looking to compliment my MBA in International Business Strategy and my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a law degree but I haven’t been able to find anything that I can do in-between contracts.

I’m a Management Consultant by trade but I’m not making that much in the way of income that I can take off 3-4 years without working to pursue another degree.

Oxford University is teaching this substantially online now.

Be aware that International Law isn’t a practitioner degree. The JD or LLB will be required for that; and so far, online options are both limited and relatively unsuccessful.

I say this because I am a small business owner. I can tell you, your Masters Degree does not matter to a business owner, it only matters to HR managers in gigantic corporations that can not react as fast as their smaller competition.

I hire two people per year. I give them a test (Predictive Interest), and an interview. I give each hire a 3 month trial period. A new hire is judged based on productivity, that it. If they can’t produce, I will fire them; I dont care if they have sat in a class room long enough to earn a PhD.

Me, I have 75 credits toward a degree in business administrations.
It’s no small thing for me to hire someone. I give most good employees a share in the company. I plan to sell it someday and they will likely make a lot of money.

@ Giuseppe – If you are getting a Masters to teach at a community college or even hold a adjunct position at a reg college, I think you may wish to re-evaluate your goals.
@ Giueppe – How long will those employers keep you in managemt positions after they realize that you have never managed anyone before?

-participates in the AU-ABC program
-has accelerated degree program (5-6 week courses)
-offers a Bachelor degree in something close to Information Systems Technology

The most I can tell you is to stay away from for-profit proprietary schools such as University of Phoenix.

Their classes are overpriced and their credits and degrees carry no respect.

If you have an MBA how did you do it? Where did you go? and did it help you in career advancement?

I had a BA in Business concentrating in MIS and currently work in IT as an applications support analyst/help desk.

Some programs are absolutely outstanding. Others are the bottom of the pile. There are places like Duke U. doing their MBA online and that MBA has much more value than one from say, Eastern Yourstate State College in the classroom.

The thing is, online at a quality school is really hard. There’s a lot of writing to do and you don’t get the 1:1 time with the instructor. You have to be a top-notch manager of time to do well in these programs.

The best advice, attend the best school you can get into (online or classroom) and do the best quality work you are able while there.

Getting a masters degree is difficult and you will need lots of family support in the process. Good luck and be sure to research any decision you may make about schooling.

If you want to get your doctorate I would suggest getting a doctorate in psychology. This way you can practice in more

Dr. Gedro discussed what SUNY Empire State College is doing to address the need for sustainability and various courses that could be assembled into a degree program as well as the design and pursuit of Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Business and Sustainability. Dr. Gedro also mentioned that we are getting ready to be approved by the New York Department of Education to offer certificates (4 courses as non-metriculated student). John Ford (’11) spoke about his career change. John was the first sustainability graduate. John discussed the Green Core. resource guide and helping small business owners turn their company green. Hanah Ehrenreich, CNY Works (Green Workforce Development), mentioned the development of talent in green jobs as well as how critical that how we grow green business is to finding and pursuing green careers. Ms. Ehrenreich also said that Syracuse is doing well in understanding green business and covered training, understanding and embracing fundamentals on how to problem-solve in business. Brian Macrae (Synapse) discussed the evolution of Synapse and the three factors (Economic, Social and Environmental) and how they utilize these in their projects, initiatives and advising their clients. Mr. Macrae also discussed the various platforms they started and the growth of Synapse.

After the panel discussion, there was a Q & A and the panelists fielded questions from the audience.

This is a music video I produced with my baby boy Taylin. Basically I’m showing just how simple it is to produce nice music when you know music theory, chords and progressions or the cycle of fifths. As well as high quality music videos using the Canon T3i, T2i, 7D and 5D series cameras with the canon 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.4, 28mm 1.8 lens. I was primarily concerned with the cinematic look of film for this video. Test with other cameras and lens are nothing compared to what I found useful with Canon Series cameras. Cinema Picture Style allowed me to get that real depth of field or bokeh to really pop out at you.

The equipment used was Canon T3i, T2i 60D with Canon 50mm f1.4 Lens, 85mm 1.8 Sigma 1.8. I was trying to capture the footage the same way photographers capture photos.
